Amount: $20,000 per graduate hired
Employers can get assistance from the Industrial Research Assistance Program to hire young talent enhancing their workforce in addition to facilitating the transition of highly skilled young people to a rapidly changing labour market.
Eligibility Criteria: IRAP Youth Employment Program
Participating host employers must meet the following criteria:
- Employee must be between the ages of 15 – 30 at the start of their employment
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation & regulations
- First time participant in the Youth Employment Strategy
- Internships are available anywhere in Canada and must last a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months
- Firms must be incorporated and for-profit, small and medium-sized enterprises
- Have 500 or less full-time equivalent
- Businesses must be ready to enhance their innovation capacity
