hot1The Holiday season is over and most of us return to our business life. And as usual, at the beginning of the year we’re full of energy and make every effort to start achieving this year’s goals.

Looking at the statistics of these grants inquiries we saw some trends in government programs and in this newsletter we decided to show them to you. It can help you pay special attention to some Government programs.
So, the 3 hottest Government programs available now for Ontario-based businesses are:
The Canada Job Grant is a leader among Government programs so far. This grant allows you to improve your employees skills and get the training cost up to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee.
This is the least restrictive grant I’ve ever encountered. Businesses with two-men operation to hundreds of thousands of employees can apply for that. Moreover, the industry doesn’t matter: manufacturing, services, mining, retail, as long as you promise to increase employees’ skills or pay cheque or hire new employee(s).

SMART Advanced Technologies for Global Growth is in the 2nd place among our clients. It was just renewed in the beginning of December 2014. By now, dozens of clients have been interested in it. And it’s clear why. This grant offers Southern-Ontario businesses up to $ 100,000 as a non-repayable contribution for Equipment Purchase and Upgrade. From now on software may also qualify under this program (some conditions apply).

Last but not least, AIME Initiative (Yves Landry Foundation) goes forward at a steady gait. Don’t be surprised. This program was just renewed in the middle of December 2014. It allows you to get up to $ 50,000 and for both Southern and Northern Ontario. Eligible cost includes trainings that will support the adaptation of new technology, new processes or procedures or a change within the company to support innovation and trainings that will support and develop highly skilled personnel in any area that leads to innovation.
