On March 4, 2025, Canada implemented a 25% tariff on $30 billion worth of goods imported from the United States, in response to recent U.S. tariffs on Canadian products. This list may expand to cover additional goods, potentially totaling $155 billion, if U.S. tariffs persist.
We’d like to remind you that businesses significantly affected by these tariffs are encouraged to apply for Tariff Remission — a process that provides temporary or permanent relief from paying tariffs, or refunds tariffs already paid. Applications should be submitted to the Department of Finance and must include evidence of eligibility, the impact of tariffs, supplier and competitor information, product pricing, market data, and other relevant details.
