You may have noticed that the Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) is under review and no longer accepts applications. This news came as an unpleasant surprise because this is the most flexible grant program for skills training available to most businesses across all industry sectors. Unlike the Skills Development Fund, COJG was open to applications from small businesses with at least one full-time employee.
Usually, there is still funding available this time of the fiscal year, so what happened? We can’t be certain, but it is likely related to the controversy surrounding the Skills Development Fund. You can research it further to learn more. And since the same ministry is in charge of both programs, they may have decided to review COJG too.
In any case, we can’t do anything but wait for the review completion. In the meantime, we recommend that you complete our eligibility check form to discover other government funding programs that may be available to your business.
