Happy New Government Fiscal Year! As we mentioned in our last message about the new budget, hiring youth is a priority for the Canadian Government this fiscal year starting April 1, 2017. There are many hiring and wage subsidy programs available now, but there will be more within next few weeks.
The rule of thumb is that the programs are available for hiring and training youth under the age of 30-31. Some government funding programs for hiring are industry-specific, others focus on the educational experience of the candidate.
Even though the new budget replenished different hiring grants and wage subsidies programs and many of them are now available, they will deplete within 3-6 months due to high demand (based on our experience).
If hiring employees is one of your business priorities, we recommend you to contact us as soon as possible to have a chance to obtain funding for you to hire new employees. You don’t have to have a candidate right now. At the same time, you can’t claim the subsidy for someone you hired in the past.
