New Ontario Grant for Businesses Impacted by U.S. Tariffs

We would like to share with you a new grant – Ontario Together Trade Fund (OTTF) that will begin accepting applications on April 23, 2025.

This new funding opportunity is designed to help Ontario-based companies overcome trade disruptions—especially those caused by U.S. tariffs—by supporting investments that enhance domestic competitiveness, build Ontario supply chains, and expand into new markets across Canada.

Eligibility requirements

To qualify, your business must:

• Be located in Ontario
• Have at least 3 years of operations and 5+ full-time employees
• Operate in a sector significantly impacted by U.S. tariffs (e.g., steel, aluminum, auto)
• Be able to demonstrate trade-related challenges or revenue loss (30% or more)
• Complete the project within 2 years

Eligible projects

Eligible projects must focus on:

• Expanding into new interprovincial markets
• Strengthening Ontario’s local supply chains
• Reshoring manufacturing or replacing U.S.-based suppliers
• Investing in advanced technologies to boost capacity and competitiveness
• Creating and retaining jobs in Ontario

Funding

Businesses can receive funding covering up to 75% of eligible project costs, with a maximum of $5 M per project in form of a grant or a loan.

Timeline

Applications open April 23, 2025, and will be accepted on a continuous basis while the program remains open.
