While you may enjoy the weather, the government has not stopped accepting applications for grant funding, and some programs have deadlines that you don’t want to miss. We have listed the available programs below for your reference.
Equipment Purchasing and Upgrade
- NGEN – up to 40% of total eligible project costs reimbursed to support collaborative, industry-led projects. Deadline: August 20, 2025.
Regional Development and Business Expansion Grants
- Southwestern Ontario Development Fund – up to 15% of the costs of expanding your manufacturing, food or tech business in Southwestern Ontario. Deadline: September 17, 2025.
- Eastern Ontario Development Fund – up to 15% of the costs of expanding your manufacturing, food or tech business in Eastern Ontario. Deadline: September 17, 2025.
- Rural Ontario Development Program (ROD) – up to 35% of eligible costs for your rural Ontario business planning to grow, modernize or create jobs.
Software Selection and Implementation
- Digital Competence Centre – 50% of software selection and implementation costs.
- Automotive Modernization Program – 50% of software implementation costs. This program is only available for the automotive industry suppliers in Ontario. Deadline: July 22, 2025.
Skills Training
- Canada-Ontario Job Grant – 83% of external training costs. Application packages are accepted year-round.
Artificial Intelligence
- AI Assist – up to 80% costs for labour-related activities.
- AI Compute Access Fund – a grant for acquiring Canadian cloud-based AI compute services. Deadline: July 31, 2025.
Research & Development
- Industrial Research Assistance Program – up to 80% of labour costs involved in R&D projects. Deadline: applications are running an ongoing basis.
