Eligibility Criteria
The Green Ontario Fund is introducing measures to help producers, processors and rural communities reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, increase their resiliency, adapt to climate change and transition to a low-carbon economy.
- Must be an Ontario-based food manufacturer to apply.
Examples of eligible products include:
- Integrated monitoring and tracking equipment
- Low-carbon fuel use
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Insulation, ceramic paint and passive technologies
- Process equipment upgrades
- Refrigeration upgrades
- Closed-loop combustion systems
- Other combustion system replacements such as ovens/fryers
- Air balance improvements
- By-product/Co-product recovery
- Closed-loop water systems
- Non-mechanical wastewater treatment
- Constructed wetlands
- CO2 recovery
- Input Projects
- Power Quality Upgrades
- Process Projects
- Automated Optical and Chemical Imaging Process Controls
- Output Projects
- Wastewater digestion
- VOC destruction
- Novel technologies such as pyrolysis or algae production
- Waste heat recovery
- Solid waste digestion
Cost Covered
- Eligible capital costs are costs that are directly related to the project including equipment and installation (associated labour and consulting services), and construction costs for building modifications.
