I am excited my two boys went back from school this morning after a 6-month break. I hope your kids or grandkids safely returned to schools too. Now that you, hopefully, have more time available, I wanted to highlight two government funding programs you don’t want to miss this month
1. Yves Landry Foundation AIME@Home Program
AIME@Home program provides 50% of the skills training cost, including trainer fees and salaries of your employees during training. Eligible companies must be the manufacturers located in Southern Ontario and employing 10-1000 full-time employees.Typically our clients get approved for training employees in software (e.g. ERP) and equipment operation skills and learning lean techniques (6 Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, etc.). In general, the AIME@Home program supports skills training to support innovation.Although there is no deadline, the program already approved over $1.5 million in contributions since July. You don’t want to wait until the program runs out of funds and must apply now.
2. Ontario Automotive Modernization Program
If you, your clients, partners or suppliers are in the automotive industry in Ontario, the provincial government re-opened the Ontario Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP). The program provides 50% of the project cost up to a maximum of $100,000 to the small-to-medium-sized automotive industry players.
The funding can be spent on:
- Purchasing or upgrading softwarePurchasing or upgrading hardware (except robots and production equipment)
- Taking Lean Manufacturing training and consulting.
The intake closes on October 7, 2020, so don’t wait until the end of the summer. Start working on the application for the O-AMP now.
