DCC Grant Still Open: get funding for getting digitalised

We’d like to remind you that Ontario-based businesses can still apply for funding through the Digitalization Competence Centre (DCC) program. The DCC initiative helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) plan and implement digital modernization strategies to improve productivity and competitiveness.

The program has two components, both accepting applications on a rolling basis:

1. Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan (DMAP)

Delivered by the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI), the province is investing $5 million to support the Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan (DMAP), which helps businesses assess their digital needs and work with a consultant to create a customized plan, with participating companies reporting $380 million in increased revenue.

Through DMAP, companies can receive a grant of up to $15,000 to match private investment that supports planning for technology investments. Companies that have completed a DMAP project are eligible for additional funding through the Technology Demonstration Program.

Eligibility requirements

Be incorporated federally or provincially with a valid Business Number
Be a for-profit, privately owned business
Have between 1 – 499 full time equivalent employees
Have the capability to implement and internally sustain new technologies
Have a permanent establishment in Ontario

2. Technology Demonstration Program (DCC Demo)

Business can receive up to $100 K (50% of eligible costs) to implement the digital tools recommended in their DMAP and accelerate their company’s digital transformation.

Eligible requirements

Be incorporated federally or provincially with a valid Business Number
Be a for-profit, privately owned business
Have between 1 – 499 full time equivalent employees
Have the capability to implement and internally sustain new technologies
Have a permanent establishment in Ontario
Have completed a DMAP project

Eligibility expenses

New software and hardware implementation
CRM, ERP, e-commerce tools, and website optimization
Social media advertising and SEO
Staff salaries directly related to tech integration
Licensing and subscription costs
