We’re happy to inform you that the next intake for the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) Stream, Southwestern Ontario Development Fund (SWODF) and Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF) grants for business expansion will open in two weeks, on November 4, 2025.
These programs, as part of Ontario’s Regional Development Program, support advanced manufacturing and technology businesses across Ontario investing in capital equipment, technology adoption and skills development. They help Ontario-based businesses strengthen competitiveness and create high-value jobs.
Eligibility requirements
To qualify, businesses must:
- Be located or plan to locate in Ontario (or East or West of the GTA for regional funds)
- Have at least 3 years of operations and financial statements
- Employ at least 10 full-time employees or 5 in rural areas
- Commit to creating or upskilling at least 5 new jobs
Funding
- Loans of up to 15% of project costs, interest-free during the project period (up to four years). Up to 33% of the amount of the loan may be forgiven if you achieve job creation and other targets.
- Grants are available only for specific circumstances, up to 15% to a maximum of:
- $500 K for small companies located in rural communities
- $1.5 M for strategic projects that are foreign direct investments or from companies competing against other jurisdictions or companies with significant reshoring projects

The program focuses on technology and advanced manufacturing industries, including but not limited to:
- Aerospace
- Automotive
- Chemical
- Information and communications technology (ICT)
- Life Sciences
- Steel
The application window runs from November 4, 2025, to February 3, 2026, so now is the time to start preparing.
