We are happy to share the announcements of two exciting government funding opportunities for the agri-food and beverage sector.
1) The Ontario Agri-Food Research Initiative’s (OAFRI) Commercialization Stream is designed to provide Ontario’s agriculture, agri-food, and agri-based products sectors access to funding to support commercialization projects with a focus on market validation and product development activities. The deadline to apply is October 29, 2021, at 2pm EST.
Eligible Ontario-based organizations with promising discoveries may apply for funding (100% – no cost share requirement) to support the advancement of their research into the marketplace through two project types:
- Project Type A: Market Validation – funding up to $30K per project
- Project Type B: Product Development – funding from $50K – $150K per project

2) Technology and Equipment to Improve Productivity is a part of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) program and provides funding for food and beverage manufacturers to acquire advanced manufacturing equipment and software, for example, ERP systems.
You can submit applications for these types of projects between September 29, 2021 and October 20, 2021.
The program provides 35% of the technology or equipment cost up to a maximum of $100K.
